Bookstore (UConn co-op)

The campus bookstore is known as the UConn Co-op and is located in the Eads Classroom Building at the Torrington campus.

The UConn Co-op is a not-for-profit co-operative corporation that is owned by the students and members. The Co-op sells used and new textbooks, notebooks, supplies, reference material, gift certificates, snacks, clothing and insignia items in our HUSKYSHOP. Computers, software, iPods and other technology are also available for purchase. The Co-op is open to the public. Use your PeopleSoft Number (which is your registration ID Number) when making purchases at any of our locations. Your purchases may be eligible for a rebate at the end of the fiscal year determined by how much you spend.

REFUND/RETURNS:

• Register receipt is required for a refund or exchange.
• USED BOOKS returned on or before TWO WEEKS from the first day of classes.
• NEW BOOKS returned on or before THREE WEEKS from the first day of classes.
• There are no refunds for books purchased after the initial returns period. Your best option at that point is to sell them back during buyback during finals, as mentioned on the following page.

USED TEXTBOOKS:
Used books are sold on a first come, first serve basis at a savings of 25% discount off the new price.

TITLES & PRICES:
While it is impossible to give textbook titles and prices on an individual basis, we are estimating your textbooks for the coming fall semester will cost between $150-200 per course. This is a conservative estimate. Book prices for many classes are significantly less. Please have the course name and number (for example, HIST 1400 OR ENGL 1010) handy when you come to the bookstore to purchase your books.

METHOD OF PAYMENT: We accept cash, check, HuskyBucks, MC, Visa, AMEX & Discover.

A current driver's license is required for either of the following:

• Checks from your personal checking account must be made payable to UConn Co-op.
• If you have a check given to you from someone else, the check must be made payable to you (the bearer). You will then endorse the check to the UConn Co-op.
  

TORRINGTON CO-OP HOURS

• Monday - Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
• Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

BUYBACK POLICY
Best time to sell is during EXAM WEEKS.

WHAT AFFECTS RESALE OF BOOKS

• Book could be used for next semester
• Book will not be used again
• Co-op has purchased enough books
• New Edition = No Value
• Poor condition
• National demand determines resale value of books that have been discontinued on our campus
